Neuroscience Research Cluster members Receive SHRF Collaborative Innovation Development Grants
Congratulations to Dr. Francisco Cayabyab, Dr. Yanbo Zhang, Dr. Mohan Babu, and Dr. Scott Widenmaier for receiving SHRF Collaborative Innovation Development Grants (2019-2020)
SHRF recently announced the latest recipients of the Collaborative Innovation Development Grants (2019-2020), and the Neuroscience Research Cluster at the University of Saskatchewan was well represented.
Dr. Francisco Cayabyab (Principal Applicant, Department of Surgery) was awarded $50,000 for the project “Low Frequency Magnetic Stimulation (LFMS): Non-Invasive and Low Cost Option for Treating Post-Stroke Depression”. The team includes Dr. Yanbo Zhang (Co-Applicant, Department of Psychiatry) and Dr. Mohan Babu (Co-Applicant, Associate Member of Neuroscience Cluster, Department of Biochemistry, University of Regina).
Another team led by Dr. Mohan Babu (Principal Applicant, Department of Biochemistry, University of Regina) received $50,000 for the project “Understanding the Role of a Mitochondrial Orphan Gene in a Rare Metabolic Disorder”. Dr. Francisco Cayabyab (Co-Applicant) and Dr. Scott Widenmaier (Co-Applicant, Cardiopulmonary Research Cluster) are members of this research project.
