Description
PDF, PhD or MSc positions available in the research group of Dr. Kendra Furber to study neural development and aging. My lab investigates the cellular and molecular mechanisms that underlie the myelination of axons in the central nervous system using both in vitro and in vivo models. There are potential opportunities to work the following projects:
i)Transcriptional and epigenetic regulation of oligodendrocyte differentiation
ii)Myelin regeneration in animal models of disease

Qualifications
Education: Completion of a BSc, MSc or PhD at time of appointment.
Experience: Relevant laboratory experience. A working knowledge of research methods in neuroscience, histology, cell biology, molecular biology and/or biochemistry is required. Demonstrated expertise in bioinformatics will be considered an asset.
Skills: The candidate should have effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; critical thinking and creative problem solving; an openness and willingness to learn; and a commitment to a respectful and diverse working environment.
Salary
The stipend for this position will commensurate with education and experience. Trainees will be expected to apply for internal and external fellowships, scholarships and/or teaching assistantships.
